ScreensConcept
Desktop app: Developers work in code editors and IDEs at desks for extended periods, toggling between models and monitoring usage per provider. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Swapline lets you pick a provider and model for each message in your AI coding assistant. OpenAI, OpenRouter, LiteLLM gateways and self-hosted endpoints sit side by side in one picker that shows which provider each model belongs to.
Your chat history stays in one place, whatever provider answered. You do not restart the editor, point it at a second home directory, or edit config files and hope to restore them later. Custom model lists are merged with the standard ones, never swapped in for them.
It is for developers who test several providers and for teams that route traffic through their own gateway. Profiles are explicit, reversible and stored locally, with keys kept out of plain-text files.

- Why this name
- Swap is what you do with providers; line is the conversation that stays unbroken. Two plain words joined.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Provider-aware model picker
Every model shows its provider, so same-named models from different endpoints are never confused.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Used by individual developers on their own machine. Team profile sharing is the only built-in spread, and it is limited to colleagues.
- Do they become customers?
- Reach comes from content and developer communities. Test whether free users hit the two-profile limit and pay for Pro, and whether team leads buy shared profiles.
- First customers
- Developers on small engineering teams who already run an OpenRouter or LiteLLM gateway next to a desktop AI coding assistant.
- Where to reach them
- The open GitHub issue: Reply with a demo to the people asking for per-turn provider switching and offer early access.
- Developer forums: Post a short guide on keeping chat history across providers, linking to a free download.
- LiteLLM user groups: Share a setup recipe for team gateways with Swapline profiles.
- First milestone
- Ten paying developers on Pro within 60 days, and two teams with shared gateway profiles.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimCLI/TUI custom provider configuration works correctly via model_providers and profiles
- AI inferenceDevelopers are actively testing multiple third-party LLM providers (OpenRouter, DeepSeek, Qwen, etc.) for code completion
- VerifiedOpen GitHub issue has 43 reactions and 13 comments
- AI inferenceDesktop model picker lacks provider identity information and provider-aware switching capability

RisksAI inference
- PlatformThe assistant's desktop app may expose no stable hook for history or model selection, and a vendor update could break the bridge or ship the feature natively.
- TechnicalProviders differ in tool calling, streaming and context limits, so switching mid-thread can give inconsistent results.
- CommercialDemand rests on one open issue with 43 reactions. Many developers may stay on the CLI, where custom providers already work.
- DataStoring keys and code conversations locally needs careful encryption. A leak would end trust with this audience.
