About this appAI proposal
Tandem Board is a multiplayer design canvas that runs in the browser. Designers, developers and AI agents open the same board, see each other's cursors and edit live. Agents connect through MCP, so a coding assistant can read frames, add components and propose changes without anyone exporting files.
It is built for small product teams who already use AI agents in their design and build work. Each agent shows up as a named collaborator with its own cursor, and its edits are labelled so you can review, accept or undo them.
Unlike a canvas where AI sits in a separate chat window, the board itself is the meeting place. Nothing is handed off by copy and paste, and every change, human or agent, lands in one history.

- Why this name
- Tandem means working as a pair. The name says people and agents share one board, and it is plain and easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Agents as collaborators
Connect any MCP-capable agent. It joins the board with a name, a colour and a cursor, like a teammate.

Live multiplayer editing
Several people edit the same frames at once, with presence, comments and follow mode.

Review agent edits
Agent changes arrive as labelled suggestions. Accept, reject or roll back one at a time.

Scoped agent permissions
Limit an agent to one frame or page, read-only or edit, and revoke access in a tap.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Teams send view and comment links of boards to clients and stakeholders. Those pages show the product name and offer a way to start a board of their own.
- Do they become customers?
- Reviewers who open a link may be designers or developers who could sign up, but many are one-time viewers. Test how many link visitors create a board.
- First customers
- Small product teams of 2 to 10 people that already use Claude Code or other MCP agents to build front ends, with one designer and one or two developers.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and MCP communities: Publish an open MCP server and sample agent recipes, and reach people starring related design repositories.
- Developer forums and Discord: Share short videos of an agent and a designer editing one board, and invite teams to a free pilot.
- First milestone
- Five small teams use a shared board with an agent weekly for a month, and three convert to paid Team plans.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalReal-time sync, undo across humans and agents, and a fast canvas in the browser are hard; a rough editor will lose designers to existing tools.
- CommercialThe only evidence of demand is a public claim and repository stars. Stars may not turn into paying teams, and an open-source option may be used free.
- AIAgents can make many bad edits quickly. Review and rollback must be easy or trust will fall.
- PlatformMCP is still changing; protocol changes could break agent connections.
- Intellectual propertyDesign-file import and a similar canvas model could raise compatibility or copying questions with existing products.
