About this appAI proposal
Patchline is a node-based canvas for building image and video generation pipelines. Drop in model nodes, prompts, references and edits, wire them together, and run the chain. It installs as a web app and runs on your own model keys, so you pay providers directly.
It is made for digital artists, content creators and small studios who use closed node tools today, or who glue models together with scripts. Every workflow is a plain file you can export, version and move, so a pipeline is never locked inside one vendor.
Studios can share templates with clients and teammates, and add custom nodes for their own endpoints, including a model running on their own machine.

- Why this name
- A patch line is the cable that joins one unit to another, like the links between nodes. The name is short, plain and easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Visual node canvas
Wire prompts, models, references, upscalers and video steps on one canvas. Run a single node or the full chain and see each result in place.

Bring your own keys
Connect your own model providers or a local endpoint. Generation costs go straight to the provider.

Open workflow files
Export any pipeline as readable JSON and import it back. Keep workflows in your own repo and move them between tools.

Custom nodes
Add a node by describing an HTTP endpoint with its inputs and outputs. Point it at a model on your own machine or server.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users publish a workflow as a link. Anyone can open a copy and run it with their own keys. The page shows the Patchline name and a prompt to build their own.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are creators with the same need, so they could become paying users. Test how many people who open a shared link create an account and build a workflow.
- First customers
- Freelance digital artists and small content studios of 2 to 10 people who already pay for a closed node-based AI tool or run scripts by hand.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source community: Post in discussions of the Vibe-Workflow repository and similar self-hosted AI projects, with importable sample workflows.
- Creator forums and Discords: Share template links for common looks and ask artists for feedback on the first version.
- Short video demos: Post screen recordings of a full pipeline built and run in minutes, with the workflow file to download.
- First milestone
- Ten paying creators or two studios on Creator or Studio within 60 days of launch, with 30 percent of them running workflows weekly.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 616 stars in 284 days
- Public claimMultiple proprietary competitors exist in this space: Weavy AI, Krea Nodes, Freepik Spaces, and FloraFauna AI are named as established players serving the same need.
- AI inferenceThe market validates demand for node-based workflow builders with 616 GitHub stars and 155 forks, indicating significant community interest in the open-source approach.
- AI inferenceCreators and developers want self-hosted AI solutions, as evidenced by self-hosted-ai being a primary topic and the open-source nature of the project.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialFree open-source alternatives exist and the demand signal is GitHub stars. Stars may not mean people will pay for a hosted version.
- PlatformModel providers can change APIs, limits or terms, which can break nodes. Keeping many provider nodes working is a steady cost.
- TechnicalVideo generation is slow and heavy. Storage and bandwidth costs may be high for the free tier.
- DataStoring user API keys and generated work raises security expectations. A leak would end trust.
- Intellectual propertyShared templates and outputs may include copyrighted material or breach model terms. Moderation and takedown are needed.
