About this appAI proposal
Handoffrelay gives your team one API for email, SMS, push and in-app messages. You describe the notification once. Handoffrelay picks the channel, sends it through the provider you have connected, retries failures and records what happened.
It is built for developers at startups and mid-market companies who now keep separate integrations, retry code and provider settings for each channel. Switching a provider or adding a channel becomes a settings change, not a code change.
Every send has a plain timeline: queued, attempted, delivered or failed, with the reason. You bring your own provider accounts, so you can start free in development and move to production when ready.
- Tagline
- One call sends it everywhere. Swap providers without touching your code.

- Why this name
- A relay is where a message is handed from one runner to the next, which is what the product does between your app and each channel provider.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One send call for every channel
Send one request with recipient, template and priority. Handoffrelay delivers by email, SMS, push or in-app message.

Provider swapping in settings
Connect your own provider accounts per channel. Change or add one without redeploying your application.

Routing and fallback rules
Set rules such as push first, then SMS if not delivered in 10 minutes, or email only for low priority.

Automatic retries
Failed sends retry with backoff and can fail over to a second provider. Duplicates are blocked by idempotency keys.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reached through developer content, open documentation, example repositories and search. Notifications go to the customers' end users, who never see the product, so use does not spread by itself.
- Do they become customers?
- End users who receive messages cannot become customers. Test whether developers who find the docs and a free sandbox reach a first production send and then upgrade.
- First customers
- Engineering teams of 3 to 15 developers at seed to Series B software startups that now run email and SMS through separate provider integrations.
- Where to reach them
- Developer communities: Post a worked guide on replacing separate provider code with one call, in forums and open-source communities.
- Open example repositories: Publish starter projects for common frameworks that use the sandbox and link to the docs.
- Direct outreach: Message engineering leads who mention notification code or provider migrations in public repos and posts.
- First milestone
- Five teams in one segment send real production traffic, and at least three move to a paid tier within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 388 stars in 55 days

RisksAI inference
- CommercialTeams may stay with direct provider integrations or existing notification services. Switching cost and trust in a new delivery layer are hard to overcome.
- TechnicalReliability is the product. Queues, retries and failover must hold under load, and an outage in the relay stops every customer's messages.
- PlatformEach provider API changes and has its own limits. Maintaining adapters for email, SMS and push providers is continuing work.
- RegulatorySMS and email carry consent, opt-out and privacy rules that vary by country. Customers need tools to comply, and the product handles personal data.
- DataThe material shows only GitHub star growth, which is interest and not payment. Willingness to pay for this layer is unproven.
