Desktop app: Engineers debug agent runs by reading detailed trails, comparing steps and analyzing costs and failures at a desk. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Trailhand records each run of an AI agent as a readable trail: every reasoning step, tool call, model call and hand-off, with its time and cost. When a run fails, you open the trail and see the step where it went off course.
It is for engineers and ML teams running agents in production, in internal tools or customer-facing products. You add a small SDK, and runs appear in a web app that works well on a phone, so you can check an overnight failure from anywhere.
Unlike general monitoring tools, it treats the whole agent run as the unit, not the single request. Quality checks, cost per run and failure grouping come built in, with no custom dashboards to assemble.

- Why this name
- A trail shows the path taken; a hand points to the exact step. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Step-by-step run trails
Follow a whole agent run as a tree: plans, tool calls, model calls, retries and sub-agents, each with inputs, outputs, time and cost.

Failure grouping
Failed runs are grouped by where they broke, such as tool errors, loops or empty answers, so you fix causes instead of single cases.

Quality checks on outputs
Set pass or fail rules or a model-graded rubric. Score live runs and saved sets, and see scores move after each prompt edit.

Cost and latency per agent
See spend and wait time per agent, per run and per call, so you can find the one step that makes a run slow or costly.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. An engineer who finds a failure shares a link to the run trail with teammates. They need an account to view full inputs and comment, so invites occur while debugging.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited teammates are engineers on the same team and can become paying seats or push the team to a higher tier. Test whether invite acceptance leads to upgrades.
- First customers
- Small startup teams of 2 to 10 engineers with an AI agent live in production for customers, who debug failures by reading logs by hand.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open-source forums: Post integration guides and issue threads where agent developers ask how to debug runs.
- Founder communities: Offer free setup help in startup groups to teams shipping agents.
- Developer write-ups: Publish real failure case studies, each showing a bug found through a run trail.
- First milestone
- Ten teams send live production runs for 4 weeks, and five of them pay for the Team tier.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 3368 stars in 772 days
- Public claimOpen-source observability platform exists and is purpose-built specifically for AI agents, indicating a recognized market need.
- AI inferenceProject is part of Y Combinator S24 cohort, suggesting venture-scale market opportunity and early traction.
- AI inferenceRepository has substantial adoption (3,368 stars, 248 forks) indicating developer interest in agent observability tooling.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialAn open-source agent observability project already exists with 3,368 GitHub stars (verified). Winning users needs a clear edge, such as phone-first triage or simpler setup.
- TechnicalAgents are built with many frameworks. SDK coverage and a stable trace format are costly to maintain as frameworks change.
- DataTraces hold prompts and user data. Teams may refuse hosted storage without strong redaction, and self-hosting would add work.
- AIModel-graded quality checks can be inconsistent, so scores may mislead unless users can inspect and calibrate them.
- CommercialGeneral observability vendors could add agent views, narrowing the gap the material describes.
