About this appAI proposal
Ledgerleaf is an open-source CRM for small sales teams. It covers contacts, deals, tasks and a pipeline board, and it installs on your own server or runs on our hosted plan. The code is open, so you can read it and change it.
Teams leaving Salesforce often pay for far more than they use, then pay again for consultants to fit it to their process. Ledgerleaf starts small: a pipeline you can edit in minutes, custom fields without code, and an assistant that drafts follow-ups and summarizes accounts.
You own your data and can export it at any time. Hosted or self-run, the product is the same, so you can start on the cloud and move later.

- Why this name
- Ledgerleaf suggests a clear record book that grows. Two plain words, easy to say, with no tie to existing CRM brands.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Pipeline board
Drag deals between stages you define. Each stage can require fields before a deal moves on.

Custom fields and objects
Add fields, record types and views from settings. No consultant and no code needed for common changes.

Built-in AI assistant
Summarizes an account, drafts follow-ups and suggests next steps. Runs on your own model key if you prefer.

Self-host or hosted
Run it from a container on your server, or use the hosted plan. Same product, same export.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Listings in open-source directories, a Salesforce-export importer people search for, and connectors to email and calendar tools bring teams in when they look for a Salesforce alternative.
- Do they become customers?
- People who find it through these channels are buyers themselves, since they are choosing a CRM. Test whether self-host visitors convert to the hosted plan, and whether the importer drives sign-ups.
- First customers
- Sales teams of 5 to 25 people at small B2B companies that pay for Salesforce and use only contacts, deals and tasks.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open-source forums: Publish the repo with a one-command install and a short guide on leaving Salesforce.
- Salesforce admin communities: Offer a free export check showing what moves cleanly into Ledgerleaf.
- Founder-led outreach: Contact small B2B firms that list Salesforce in their stack and offer a free migration.
- First milestone
- Five small sales teams migrate from Salesforce and pay for the hosted plan within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialSeveral open-source CRMs already have many GitHub stars. Ledgerleaf needs a clear edge, such as easy Salesforce migration, to win teams that could pick a free project.
- CommercialA free self-hosted version may keep most users from paying. The hosted plan must be clearly easier than running it yourself.
- DataCustomer data is sensitive. Hosted plans need strong backups, access control and export, and a breach would end trust.
- AIAI drafts may be wrong or off-tone. Every message needs human review, and sending customer data to a model API must be clear to buyers.
- TechnicalImporting Salesforce data with custom objects is messy. A first version may only handle standard objects.
