About this appAI proposal
Tallybook is a CRM for small teams and Laravel developers. It tracks contacts, companies, leads and deals. Run it as a hosted PWA, or add the open core to your own Laravel app as a package and change what you need.
It is for developers who would otherwise build contact and lead screens from scratch, or pay for a proprietary CRM and its licence. The core is free to read and modify. Paid plans cover hosting, support and extras.
The package ships with sensible models, migrations and an API, so a feature in your app can reuse the same data the hosted app shows.

- Why this name
- Tallybook: a tally keeps count of people and deals, a book is the record. Two plain words, easy to say and spell.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. The open Laravel package is listed on package registries and GitHub. Developers who embed it in client apps meet the hosted option, add-ons and support plans as the natural next step.
- Do they become customers?
- Developers who install the package are the paying buyers for hosting and support, but many may never pay. Test what share of installs convert to a paid hosted or support plan.
- First customers
- Freelance Laravel developers and agencies of two to ten people who build custom client apps that need contacts and lead tracking.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and Packagist: Publish the open core with clear docs and a quick-start, and link to the hosted plan.
- Laravel communities: Share tutorials in Laravel forums, Discord servers and newsletters showing a CRM added in an afternoon.
- First milestone
- Five agencies or small teams paying for hosting or support within 60 days of releasing the package.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 469 stars in 2238 days

RisksAI inference
- CommercialOpen-source users may never pay. The hosted and support offers must prove they are worth buying over self-hosting.
- TechnicalSupporting both a package inside other apps and a multi-tenant hosted app doubles the compatibility work across Laravel versions.
- CommercialThe only market evidence is repository stars, which show interest but not willingness to pay.
- DataHosting customer contact data brings privacy duties and expectations of backups and security.
