About this appAI proposal
Gridkeep is a web console for teams that run an open-source MPP analytics database such as Cloudberry. It connects to your own clusters and shows health, slow queries, skewed data and disk use in one place, so in-house deployment and upkeep take less time.
It also helps teams leaving Greenplum. Point it at an existing cluster and it lists the objects, SQL features and extensions it finds, flags what needs checking on the open-source side, and produces a plan you can share with colleagues.
Gridkeep does not replace the database. Your data stays on your servers and Gridkeep reads only metadata and system statistics. The aim is to lower the cost of choosing open source by making it easier to run.

- Why this name
- Grid points to the many nodes of an MPP cluster; keep suggests looking after it. Two plain words joined, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Cluster health at a glance
See segments, mirrors, disk and memory per host, with a clear list of what is down or close to full.
No member yet
Skew and slow query finder
Spot tables with uneven data spread and queries that spend their time moving rows between segments.
No member yet
Migration readiness scan
Scan a Greenplum catalog for tables, functions and extensions. Each is marked ready, check or manual work.

Shareable migration plan
Turn scan results into a read-only link or PDF that managers and teammates open without an account.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. A migration scan produces a read-only plan link or PDF. Engineers send it to managers, finance and consultants, who see the Gridkeep name on the page.
- Do they become customers?
- Readers are often decision makers, but may only view the plan. Test whether plan viewers open accounts or ask for a scan of their own cluster.
- First customers
- Platform and data engineers at mid-size companies that run Greenplum and are weighing open-source options, or have started on Cloudberry.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source project community: Offer the free scan in the project's forums and issue threads, with useful write-ups of what the scan finds.
- Direct outreach: Message data platform leads at Greenplum users and offer a free scan of one cluster.
- Technical articles: Publish guides on skew, rebalancing and Greenplum migration checks, linking to the free tier.
- First milestone
- Ten teams run a scan on a real cluster and three pay for the Team tier within 90 days.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalClusters sit in private networks. The agent must be simple to install and safe, and catalog differences between Greenplum and Cloudberry versions may break scans.
- CommercialEvidence shows interest in the open-source database (stars and forks), not demand for a paid console. Teams may use existing monitoring tools instead.
- PlatformThe product depends on a third-party open-source project. If its project or a vendor ships its own console, the need could shrink.
- DataEven metadata such as table and column names can be sensitive. Buyers will ask for clear security terms before connecting.
- CommercialReadiness scores could be wrong and cause a team to misjudge a migration. Results must be shown as guidance.
