About this appAI proposal
Stowage is a web console for teams that run their own S3-compatible object storage. It connects to any cluster that speaks the S3 API and shows health, speed, capacity and replication in one installable app.
It is built for infrastructure and ML platform teams who run storage on their own hardware and want to know how fast it really is. A small agent runs timed read and write probes from your own network and records the results beside each cluster, so speed claims can be checked against your workload.
Stowage is not a storage engine and does not hold your data. It sits beside your clusters, works across engines, and makes a move from one engine to another measurable before you commit.

- Why this name
- Stowage means the careful packing and keeping of goods, which is what object storage does. It is one plain word, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Probe-based speed checks
A light agent runs timed PUT and GET tests at object sizes you choose, and charts latency and throughput over time.

One view, many engines
Connect clusters from different S3-compatible engines and compare them side by side with identical tests.

Replication lag tracking
See which buckets are behind their targets, by how long, and how many objects have not yet arrived.

Capacity forecast
Growth per bucket and per cluster, with an estimated date when a node pool fills up.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users publish read-only benchmark and status links to managers, auditors, vendors and open-source communities. Each page carries the Stowage name and a link to run the same probes on your own cluster.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are often infrastructure peers who could become paying users, but many will only read the page. Test what share of report views lead to a probe agent install within 30 days.
- First customers
- Platform engineers at AI/ML companies with 5 to 50 engineers who run one or more self-hosted S3-compatible clusters and are comparing storage engines.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source storage communities: Offer the free probe agent in project forums and issue threads where users ask about performance and migrations.
- Technical write-ups: Publish repeatable benchmark methods with shareable reports that show the tool in use.
- Direct outreach: Message platform leads at ML teams who mention self-hosted storage in public talks or repositories.
- First milestone
- Ten teams run the agent on a real cluster, and three of them pay for the Team tier within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialTeams may already watch storage with general monitoring tools and may not pay for a storage-specific console. The speed-check and migration dry run must prove worth beyond dashboards they have.
- TechnicalEngines differ in how they expose health, capacity and replication status. Beyond the plain S3 API, each engine needs its own adapter, which widens the work.
- DataCustomers must give the agent storage credentials. Leaked or over-broad keys would be serious, so least-privilege, test-bucket-only access has to be the default.
- PlatformMany self-hosting teams are in closed networks. A cloud-hosted console may be unreachable or unwelcome, which may force a self-hosted edition.
- CommercialEvidence shows interest in one open-source storage project (563 GitHub stars in 308 days). Stars do not show that those teams would pay for a tool beside it.
