About this appAI proposal
Tallyfold is a personal finance app for people whose money is spread across several bank accounts and cards. Add transactions by importing a statement file, typing a short line, or forwarding a receipt, and see income, spending and cash flow in one place.
Categories are suggested from the first import. Confirm or correct one in a single tap and similar transactions follow. There is no rule builder to finish before the app becomes useful.
Budgets are simple monthly envelopes that show what is left. Linking a bank is optional, so you can start with files and add a connection later if you want one.
- Tagline
- Every account, one calm tally. Set up in minutes, not weekends.

- Why this name
- Tally is the old act of counting what you have; fold suggests many accounts folded into one view. Two plain syllable groups, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Several ways to add data
Import CSV or OFX files, type a line like 'coffee 4.50 card', or forward a receipt email. Bank linking is optional.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no consumer competitor prices. Plaid's page lists prices on request, but that is a data-connection cost to us, not a rival's price. These tiers are a starting point to test.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Personal finance is private, so use rarely spreads it. Growth comes from content, search for Mint alternatives and community posts, not from the product's own use.
- Do they become customers?
- Visitors from search and communities can become paying users directly. Test whether people leaving Mint-style tools convert from Free to Plus after the first import.
- First customers
- Former Mint-style app users who keep several bank accounts and cards and have given up on spreadsheets, starting with English-speaking tech-comfortable individuals.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Reddit: Share a Show post and answer threads where people ask for Mint replacements or complain about tedious setup.
- Search content: Publish guides on moving from spreadsheets and old apps, with import steps for common bank files.
- Personal finance communities: Offer early access to forum and newsletter audiences in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Fifty people import a real statement and 10 pay for Plus within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- DataBank linking costs and access terms are unknown (Plaid prices are on request), so the free tier may be unaffordable if linking is included. File import must stand on its own.
- CommercialMint's shutdown shows demand, but the material gives no willingness-to-pay for consumers, and free open-source Firefly III is an alternative for technical users.
- RegulatoryHolding financial data brings privacy and security duties, and bank linking may add rules that vary by country.
- AIWrong auto-categories would erode trust. Suggestions must be easy to see and fix, and accuracy has to be measured on real statements.
- TechnicalStatement file formats differ between banks, so import parsing needs steady maintenance.
