Desktop and mobile: Vet clinics need it on front-desk computers for scheduling and invoicing, and on tablets or phones for charting and prescriptions during patient consultations and exam room work. Sample screens on a computer and a phone, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Kennelbook is a practice management app for small and mid-sized veterinary clinics. It keeps patient records, appointments, prescriptions and invoices in one place, and runs in the browser on a front-desk PC, a consult-room tablet or a phone.
It is built for owners, practice managers and vets who want to own their clinic data. Every record can be exported in open formats at any time, and a clinic can choose hosted use or run it on its own server.
The difference is flexibility without lock-in: fields, forms and visit templates can be adjusted to how your clinic works, instead of forcing it into the layout of a proprietary system.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$190,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Clinics send owners appointment reminders, invoices and vaccine certificates as branded links. Pet owners see Kennelbook on each one.
- Do they become customers?
- Pet owners are rarely clinic buyers, but some work at or know other clinics. Test whether a small 'sent from Kennelbook' link produces any clinic enquiries.
- First customers
- Independent one-to-three vet clinics, led by the owner or practice manager, who are unhappy with the cost or rigidity of their current system.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source community: Post in the GitHub project's community and developer forums, and invite clinic-side contributors to try the hosted version.
- Vet practice groups online: Join practice manager and vet owner forums and groups, and offer free migration help to a few clinics.
- Local outreach: Visit or call independent clinics in one region and offer a pilot with import support.
- First milestone
- Five independent clinics in one region run daily operations on it for 60 days, and three pay for hosting.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 2022 stars in 646 days
- Public claimVeterinary clinics use practice management systems and patient information management systems to run their operations
- AI inferenceThe project attracts developer interest with 2,022 stars and 84 forks on GitHub, indicating community validation of the concept

RisksAI inference
- RegulatoryClinic records may fall under local privacy and drug-dispensing record rules that vary by region. These need checking before any clinic relies on it.
- CommercialClinics may be reluctant to switch from their current system. Moving years of records is hard and may block adoption.
- TechnicalSupporting self-hosted installs on varied servers raises support load and can swamp a small team.
- DataImporting records from proprietary systems depends on what export formats those systems offer, which the material does not describe.
- CommercialOpen-source interest on GitHub (2,022 stars) shows developer attention, not that clinics will pay.
