About this appAI proposal
Plainpost is a paid email service for people who live in their inbox. It keeps search quick when you have hundreds of thousands of messages, and the web app installs as a PWA so it feels like a native mail app on phone and desktop.
It is built for individuals, not teams. It does not make encryption its main selling point: most of your mail goes to and from providers that are not encrypted anyway, so Plainpost spends its effort on speed, reliability and a clean interface. Transport security is standard.
Pricing is a flat, readable list of plans with no add-on maze. You use your own domain or a Plainpost address, import your old mail, and leave with a full export whenever you want.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Mostly sales through content and word of mouth. Each outgoing email could carry an optional small footer line, but recipients mostly use other providers, so it is a weak loop at best.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients of mail already have an inbox and may not switch. Test whether switchers from Gmail or Outlook respond to speed-focused comparisons and import-first onboarding, and what share convert after a free trial.
- First customers
- Individual heavy email users with 100k+ messages in Gmail or Outlook, who pay for tools and have complained about slow search or ads.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and tech forums: Post a benchmark of search speed on a large mailbox and an import walkthrough; invite discussion on trade-offs.
- Comparison pages: Write honest guides for people leaving Gmail, Outlook or encrypted providers, aimed at search terms about switching.
- Newsletters for power users: Sponsor or pitch a few productivity newsletters read by people with large inboxes.
- First milestone
- Twenty-five paying subscribers who migrated a mailbox of 100k+ messages and kept it for 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalRunning mail servers is hard: inbound spam filtering, storage, and fast search over huge mailboxes need real engineering, and 60 days is tight for a service people trust with everything.
- CommercialFastMail already serves this exact need at a fair price. Plainpost must show a clear gain, such as speed or app quality, to make people switch.
- PlatformDeliverability depends on IP reputation and big providers' filtering rules. New senders can land in spam, which would hurt trust at once.
- RegulatoryHolding personal mail brings privacy law duties, lawful-request handling and abuse management in each region served.
- CommercialEvidence on demand is public claims and inference from forum posts; willingness to pay for a new provider is untested.
