About this appAI proposal
Waymark Ledger turns your location history into a clear timeline of places and trips. Import points from your phone or files, and it groups them into visits and journeys, then shows distance, time away and places by month or year.
It is made for people who want the insight of a cloud timeline without handing their movements to an ad company. Your data sits in a database you own, and you can export or delete it at any time.
Unlike scattered GPS loggers, it detects trips on its own and can match photos to places. Unlike closed cloud services, nothing is shared or used for ads.

- Why this name
- A waymark marks a point on a route; a ledger is a record you keep yourself. Together they say private travel records.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Mostly content and community: guides on leaving cloud timelines, import tutorials, and open-source community posts. Team sharing is opt-in and small, so it is not a real loop.
- Do they become customers?
- Test whether self-hosters convert to paid hosting, and whether people who find it through guides will pay $5 a month.
- First customers
- Privacy-minded individual travellers who already export their location history and have tried self-hosting or want to avoid it.
- Where to reach them
- Self-hosting communities: Post an import guide and demo in privacy and self-hosting forums and subreddits.
- Open-source repository users: Offer a migration path to people following related GitHub projects.
- Travel blogs: Offer a yearly travel report template to long-term travellers.
- First milestone
- Twenty people import a real history and ten pay for hosted use within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this

RisksAI inference
- PlatformA PWA cannot track location reliably in the background on phones, so the first version depends on imports or a companion logger.
- CommercialFree open-source alternatives exist; people may self-host and not pay. Willingness to pay for hosting is untested.
- DataLocation history is highly sensitive. A breach or weak encryption would destroy trust, and hosted storage raises compliance duties.
- TechnicalTrip detection from noisy points will make mistakes, and users may lose patience if corrections are tedious.
- Intellectual propertyImporting other tools' export formats and reusing open-source code needs a licence check.
