About this appAI proposal
Tallyroom is a cookie-free web analytics service for agencies and freelancers who look after many small client websites. One account shows every site in a rollup, and each client gets a read-only page and a monthly email that explains in plain sentences what changed and what moved it.
The tracking script is tiny and sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifiers. Visitors are counted with a salted hash that rotates daily, and the raw IP is discarded. That aims to let clients run without a consent banner, though each agency should confirm this with its own legal advice.
The material shows several open-source tools already claiming the privacy-first Google Analytics alternative position. Tallyroom does not rely on that claim alone. It is built around the agency job: many sites, client-ready reports, and per-client usage you can see and bill.

- Why this name
- A tally is a simple count, and a room is where an agency keeps all its clients together. Two plain words, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
No cookies, no persistent IDs
A small script counts visits with a daily-rotating salted hash of IP and user agent. The raw IP is discarded.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Agencies send clients a read-only report link and a monthly email. Each carries a small 'Powered by Tallyroom' line that can be removed on the Agency tier.
- Do they become customers?
- Clients see the report but may not buy. The test is whether some clients with their own sites or other agencies ask to sign up from the footer link, and how many do.
- First customers
- Freelancers and small web agencies of 1 to 10 people in Europe who manage 5 to 30 small business sites and report traffic to clients each month.
- Where to reach them
- Agency and freelancer communities: Join web design and WordPress communities and offer free setup for a few agencies in return for feedback.
- Compliance-focused content: Publish guides on running client sites without a consent banner, with a free report template people can use.
- Direct outreach: Email small agencies that publish client work and offer to build a sample rollup for their sites.
- First milestone
- Ten agencies each paying for the Freelancer or Agency tier within 90 days, with at least 5 sites each sending data.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialSeveral open-source tools already hold the cookie-free alternative position. Agencies may just self-host one of them, so the multi-site and report workflow must be clearly worth paying for.
- RegulatoryWhether counting without consent is lawful depends on the country and the setup. Tallyroom must not promise legal compliance without review by a lawyer.
- TechnicalAd blockers may block the script, which undercounts traffic. The proxy setup reduces this but adds work for each client site.
- AIPlain-language change notes could state a wrong cause. Notes should be built from the data with fixed rules and say what is known, not guess.
- DataDaily-rotating hashes mean unique visitors cannot be tracked across days. Some users will find the monthly unique counts less precise than they expect.
