About this appAI proposal
Hushpane is a paid privacy control panel for Linux desktop users. Pick the browsers you use, and Hushpane builds a hardened settings profile for each, shows what every setting changes in plain words, and checks your install against it. The material shows Linux users asking for a paid, privacy-first browser and finding few options. Hushpane does not claim to replace the browser. It is a proposal for a lighter first step: a subscription service whose only income is you, with no ads and no data selling.
Your profiles sync end to end encrypted, so a new laptop gets the same protections in minutes. A small open helper applies the profile on your machine and you can read every line it writes before it runs.

- Why this name
- A pane is a window, and hushed is how it should feel: a browser window that stops talking about you. Two plain words joined, easy to say.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users publish a profile as a public link with its settings explained. Others can read it, copy it, and apply it with the helper.
- Do they become customers?
- Readers of a shared profile can sign up and sync their own copy, but many will just copy the text for free. Test how many shared-link visitors create an account.
- First customers
- Individual Linux desktop users who already pay for privacy services and manage two or more browsers or machines.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News: Show HN post of the free profile generator and open helper, with a link to the paid sync.
- Linux and privacy forums: Share profiles and audit write-ups in distribution and privacy communities, answering setup questions.
- First milestone
- Fifty free signups and ten paying Solo subscribers within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialThe evidence is public claims that Linux users want a paid privacy browser. A settings service is not a browser, so it may not satisfy that demand.
- TechnicalBrowser policy and preference formats change between releases and distributions, so profiles need steady upkeep and testing.
- CommercialFree hardening guides and config projects exist, so people may not pay for what they can copy.
- PlatformA PWA cannot touch local files, so the product depends on a helper tool that users must trust and install.
