About this appAI proposal
Quietgate is a bot check you run yourself. It scores each form submission or sign-up with signals that stay on your server, and only shows a challenge when a visit looks doubtful. Most real visitors never see anything.
It is built for teams who run websites and apps and want to stop spam and scripted attacks without sending visitor behavior to an outside provider. Verification data stays in your own database, so privacy reviews have less to cover.
Where it differs: no image puzzles for most people, no third-party tracking script, and a dashboard that shows what was blocked and why. A managed option exists for teams that would rather not operate it.

- Why this name
- A gate that works without noise. Quiet describes the visitor experience and the lack of tracking; gate says what it does.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Quiet by default
Low-risk visitors pass with no click and no puzzle. Only doubtful traffic gets a light proof-of-work or a simple challenge.

No cross-site tracking
No cookies that follow people between sites and no profile building. Signals are used for one verdict, then expire.

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Visible inside customers’ products. The widget sits on customers' forms with a small optional 'Protected by Quietgate' mark. Visitors who run their own sites may see it and look it up.
- Do they become customers?
- Most visitors are not site operators, so conversion will be low. Test whether the mark and a link to the self-host guide bring operators who start a trial.
- First customers
- Small SaaS and agency teams in the EU who run sign-up or contact forms and must justify third-party scripts in a privacy review.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and self-hosting forums: Publish the open verifier and a migration guide for people already looking for alternatives to incumbent CAPTCHAs.
- Agency and web developer communities: Offer a free setup for agencies protecting client forms, in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Ten teams run it in production and at least three pay for the managed tier within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 301 stars in 1263 days
- Public claimThe repository describes itself as a privacy-focused alternative to reCAPTCHA and hCaptcha, indicating demand for solutions that address privacy concerns with existing CAPTCHA providers.
- Public claimThe frictionless and self-hosted positioning indicates that existing solutions create friction and data control concerns that a better product could address.
- VerifiedhCaptcha's pricing page lists 2 paid plans, at $139 a month, plus a free plan and prices on request for larger customers

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalBot operators adapt quickly. Without a large shared network of signals, a self-hosted check may catch fewer advanced bots than the incumbents.
- CommercialSelf-hosting is free, so few teams may pay. The managed tier must be worth it by saving operation work.
- DataFrictionless scoring needs signals, and the proof that they are privacy-safe must hold up with regulators and customers' legal teams.
- AIAI-driven agents can pass simple browser checks and may mimic human behavior, which would weaken silent scoring over time.
- CommercialThe only verified market evidence is one repository's star count, so demand among paying teams is not yet shown.
