ScreensConcept
Desktop and mobile: Users access passwords and passkeys both in hand on phones and at desks; family members share logins across both—password vaults fail without mobile and desktop access. Sample screens on a computer and a phone, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Doorkeep is a password manager for people who pay for one and want it to stay quiet. No ads, no banners for business plans, no prompts to upgrade to features you did not ask for. You pay a plain price and get a vault that does its job.
It is made for individuals and small families who share logins, Wi-Fi codes and cards. Passwords are encrypted on your device before they are stored, so the service holds only locked data. Family folders, passkeys and import come with every paid plan.
What is different is the promise: the product has one kind of customer, you. Price changes are announced well ahead by email, and the vault can be exported in an open format at any time, so staying is a choice, not a trap.

- Why this name
- A doorkeep is someone who guards a door and works for the household. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
No ads, ever
Nothing in the app promotes products, partners or business plans. The interface shows your vault and what it needs to protect it.

Encrypted on your device
Items are encrypted before they leave your phone or browser. The server stores only encrypted data and cannot read your passwords.
No member yet
Family folders
Share a streaming login or a Wi-Fi code with chosen people. Each member keeps a private vault the others cannot see.

Passkey support
Create and store passkeys next to passwords, so you can move to passwordless sign-in at your own pace.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A family plan owner invites relatives to join a shared folder. Each invited person sets up their own private vault in Doorkeep to accept.
- Do they become customers?
- Invitees become users and may later buy a Personal plan or start their own Family plan. Test how many invited members convert to paid within 60 days.
- First customers
- Long-time paying family-plan users of a major password manager who are unhappy with ads and want a calmer, consumer-only alternative.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Reddit: Join threads where paying users complain about ads, and offer a clear import path and a no-ads promise.
- Privacy communities: Share the encryption design and audit plan openly in privacy and self-hosting forums to earn early trust.
- First milestone
- Twenty paying Family plans from switchers within 90 days of a private beta, with at least half importing a vault.
Why people already pay for this
- Verified1Password sells paid plans with prices on request, on its own pricing page, plus prices on request for larger customers
- AI inferenceUser maintained a paid 1Password subscription since 2013 with a family plan, demonstrating long-term customer commitment and recurring revenue in the password manager market.
- Public claimExisting password managers are adding advertisements to the product interface even for paying subscribers, creating a negative experience.
- AI inferencePassword managers are shifting focus to enterprise customers while neglecting consumer experience, driving churn among paying individual subscribers.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalSecurity bugs in a vault are fatal to trust. Encryption, key recovery and sync need an independent audit before launch, which adds cost and time.
- PlatformA PWA cannot autofill into native apps on phones. Without it, daily use may feel weaker than established managers, even with an extension.
- CommercialDislike of ads may not be enough to make people move their whole vault. Switching is a chore, so import quality has to carry it.
- RegulatoryStoring encrypted personal data for families brings privacy law duties, breach rules and data-location questions that vary by country.
- CommercialA low consumer price leaves little room for support, audits and recovery help. Churn or free alternatives could make the margins thin.
