About this appAI proposal
Inkhold fills complex PDF forms for healthcare staff without sending a single field to a cloud service. The PDF is opened and parsed in the browser. A language model finds the form fields, matches them to the details you give it, and fills them in. You review each answer before saving. Built for document handlers in clinics, billing offices and hospital admin teams who work with forms that hold protected health information, including federal forms such as W-9s. Models run on the device by default. If your organization prefers, you can point Inkhold at its own cloud account or a local model server.
Generic chat-with-PDF tools read text and require an upload. Inkhold acts on the document: it fills fields, adds missing ones and removes pages, while the data stays under your control. A visible log shows where every request went, which is none by default.

- Why this name
- Ink is what fills a form, and hold means the data stays in your hands. Two plain syllables, easy to say.

Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.

AI that fills the fields
Detects form fields with tool calling and proposes values from a profile or pasted notes, instead of only chatting about the text.

Review before you save

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Filled forms go to third parties as ordinary PDFs, and Inkhold leaves no visible mark on them. Growth comes from sales, content on privacy-safe AI, and referrals between compliance staff.
- Do they become customers?
- Recipients of filled PDFs never see the product, so no loop exists. Test whether privacy and compliance officers will pay after a free trial, and whether they recommend it to peers.
- First customers
- Billing and credentialing coordinators in small US medical and dental practices of 5 to 50 staff who handle vendor and payer forms.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Share a demo and the data-flow log idea with the community that already showed interest.
- Practice manager communities: Post in practice-management forums and groups with a form-filling walkthrough.
- Direct outreach: Contact compliance officers at small practices with a free trial and a short privacy summary.
- First milestone
- Five small practices each paying for the Team plan within 60 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalSmall models in the browser may mis-map fields on complex or scanned forms, and large model downloads are slow on older hardware.
- RegulatoryClient-side processing does not make an organization HIPAA compliant. Buyers may still require reviews, agreements and audits before use.
- CommercialThe material shows interest on Hacker News but no proof that healthcare buyers will pay. Budget and who signs off are untested.
- AIA wrong value on a medical or tax form has real consequences. Review must stay mandatory and the model must never auto-submit.
- PlatformWebGPU support varies across browsers and managed hospital devices, which may limit on-device models for some users.
