About this appAI proposal
Handrail is a shared workspace where an engineering team moving AI agents to production and the specialists helping them work from one board. Each agent gets a go-live checklist, a list of open problems with response-time clocks, and a record of architecture decisions.
It is built for engineering teams with strong software skills but little prior agent experience, and for the framework vendors or consultancies who support them. Questions raised in Slack or on a pull request become tracked cases instead of scrolling away.
What is different: both sides see the same facts. Problems that recur across customers are grouped so the supporting team can turn them into framework changes, and customers can see when that happens.

- Why this name
- A handrail is a support you hold on a steep climb. It fits a product that steadies teams moving agents from demo to production.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Go-live checklist per agent
A readiness list for each agent: tools, evals, fallbacks, cost limits, observability, rollback. Items have owners, dates and sign-off.

Cases with response-time clocks
Each problem becomes a case with a severity and an agreed response time. Clocks follow contract hours and region, so EU terms can be tracked.

Capture from Slack and pull requests
Turn a Slack message or PR comment into a case in one tap. A link back keeps context where people already work.

Architecture decision log
Record what each review decided, why, and what was rejected. New engineers read the history instead of asking again.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor prices. Tiers are a starting point to test, with prices to be set from interviews. Per-seat for customer teams and per-workspace for support providers.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. A support provider invites each customer team into its workspace, and customer engineers invite colleagues, managers and other vendors to join cases and sign off checklist items.
- Do they become customers?
- Invited customer teams could become paying workspaces for their own agents, but this is unproven. Test whether customers adopt it for a second vendor or only use it as guests.
- First customers
- Small teams that sell an AI agent framework or consulting and give embedded support to paying customers, each with under 20 customer accounts.
- Where to reach them
- Direct outreach to agent vendors: Contact founders and support leads of agent framework and tooling companies and offer a free pilot with two customers.
- Developer communities: Post checklists and write-ups on agent go-live problems in Hacker News and agent-focused Slack and Discord groups.
- First milestone
- Three support providers each running two customer workspaces for 30 days, and one of them paying.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimMastra serves paying customers deploying agents to production who require embedded engineering support
- Public claimCustomer feedback from production deployments directly drives framework development and bug fixes
- Public claimThe company has EU customers with response-time SLAs, indicating a growing international customer base
- Public claimBuilding and deploying agents requires specialized TypeScript engineering skills and agent-specific knowledge

RisksAI inference
- CommercialSupport is often sold as people, not software. Providers may see a shared board as extra work, or customers may keep using Slack alone.
- PlatformDepends on Slack and GitHub app approval and API limits. Changes to either could weaken the capture flow.
- DataCases may include code snippets, logs and customer details. Enterprise buyers will ask about data handling, residency and access controls.
- CommercialThe evidence is public claims from one vendor. Demand from other agent-support providers is unverified and must be tested.
