About this appAI proposal
Steadyjob runs your scheduled and event-driven LLM tasks, such as nightly summaries, email replies and voice-note cleanup, using your own API keys. Each job gets a budget that is enforced before a call is made, not reported after the bill arrives.
When a provider changes its pricing or limits, you see the effect on every job in dollars before the next run. You can point a job at a cheaper model or another provider and compare outputs side by side first.
It is for developers and technical users who built tools around one provider and cannot absorb a sudden jump in cost. Steadyjob does not resell model access; it keeps your jobs portable and your spending predictable.

- Why this name
- Steady points to predictable cost; job is the unit users schedule and cap. Two plain words joined, easy to say.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Hard budget per job
Set a daily or monthly cap on each job. Steadyjob estimates cost before a run and stops or downgrades the call instead of overspending.

Provider-neutral job definitions
Write a job once as a prompt, inputs and schedule. Run it on any supported provider with your own keys, so nothing is locked in.

Price change impact preview
Edit a provider's per-token rates and see how the monthly cost of every job changes, based on your real past token counts.

Fallback chains
Order models per job. If the first is over budget, rate-limited or down, the run moves to the next one and logs why.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor price list, only public claims of a 10x increase. These tiers are a starting point to test. Users pay model providers directly with their own keys.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Steadyjob is a back-office tool used by its owner. Outputs go to the owner's own inbox or systems, so use does not expose the product to new people. Growth comes from content, community posts and search.
- Do they become customers?
- Only direct sales and content reach customers. Test whether developers who read a cost-cap or price-impact guide sign up and connect a key within a week.
- First customers
- Solo developers and small teams running scheduled or email-triggered LLM jobs on one provider's API, who spend at least a few hundred dollars a month.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Post a free price-impact calculator where people paste token counts and see cost under new rates, with a link to Steadyjob.
- Developer forums and Discords: Answer threads on rising API bills with a worked example of caps and fallbacks, then offer early access.
- Direct outreach: Message people who publicly said they are leaving a provider over cost, offering free setup of their first three jobs.
- First milestone
- Ten developers connect their own keys and run live jobs, and five of them pay for Builder within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimUser running 40% of Max 5x plan usage would face $1000/month cost under new pricing
- Public claimProgrammatic usage for autonomous tasks like scheduled jobs and email processing is a significant value driver
- Public claimPrice elasticity is low for autonomous use cases; users with 10x cost increase plan to switch providers entirely

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalCost estimates before a call are approximate, since output length is unknown. Caps may stop a run midway or overshoot slightly; users need clear limits on what is guaranteed.
- PlatformProviders may change terms, rates or access rules for programmatic use, and some subscription plans may not allow third-party tools to use them. Support may be limited to plain API keys.
- CommercialThe evidence is public claims from one forum thread. It is unproven that enough developers will pay for a layer over their provider rather than switch or write a script.
- DataStoring user prompts, inputs and provider keys creates a security duty. A leak would end trust; logs need short retention and optional redaction.
- AIOutput quality differs between models. Replay comparison helps, but a cheaper model may fail quietly on some inputs, so users need their own checks.
