About this appAI proposal
Hushcap turns speech into live subtitles on the device that hears it. Speech recognition runs on the CPU, in the browser or on a local machine, so no audio goes to a cloud service and no GPU is needed. It labels speakers and can translate lines as they appear.
It is for developers who add captions to video apps and streaming tools, and for creators who go live and want captions on screen. Use it as a captions overlay for a stream, or embed the small player and SDK in your own product.
Cloud speech services need an internet connection and API calls, and local options often need a GPU. Hushcap aims for the middle: lightweight, private, usable on ordinary hardware, and still able to handle several languages.

- Why this name
- Hush for quiet, private processing; cap for captions. Short, easy to say, and it says audio stays put.

Runs on CPU, no GPU
Recognition runs on ordinary laptops and desktops. No graphics card and no rented GPU server.

Offline and private
Audio stays on the device. Captions keep working with no connection, so nothing is sent to a cloud API.

Speaker labels
Each caption line is tagged Speaker 1, 2 and so on. Rename them once and the names stick for the session.

Live translation
Show captions in the spoken language and a second language side by side, line by line, as people talk.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Visible inside customers’ products. Free-tier overlays and embedded players show a small 'Captions by Hushcap' mark to viewers of streams and video apps, linking to the product page.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are mostly not buyers. Test whether creators and developers who see the mark click through and start a trial, and whether the watermark leads them to upgrade.
- First customers
- Solo and small-team live streamers who need accessible captions, plus indie developers adding captions to a video app.
- Where to reach them
- Streamer communities: Offer free overlay setup help in Discord servers and forums for streamers who care about accessibility.
- Developer forums and GitHub: Publish a demo and embed guide, and answer questions on local speech recognition.
- Accessibility groups: Share a free offline demo with accessibility advocates and ask for feedback on real events.
- First milestone
- Ten paying Creator or Developer subscribers within 60 days, from at least two of these channels.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalAccuracy and delay on low-end CPUs inside a browser may fall short, especially with speaker labels and translation running together.
- TechnicalModel downloads are large, so first load is slow on weak connections. Caching in the service worker must be reliable.
- CommercialFree open-source local tools already exist, so developers may self-host. Paid value must come from ease, support and the SDK.
- Intellectual propertyModel and library licences vary. Each one must permit commercial use and redistribution before it ships.
- PlatformTab audio capture differs by browser and operating system, which may limit streaming use cases on some devices.
