Desktop and mobile: Setup and policy review happen at a desk, but alerts, status checks and quick container mapping occur from phone or laptop while managing infrastructure. Sample screens on a computer and a phone, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Latchway is a dashboard and small host agent that puts routing, HTTPS certificates and container deployment in one place for self-hosters. You install the agent on your server, open the app on your phone or laptop, and map a domain to a container without editing proxy config files.
It is for people running several containerized services at home or in a small organization, who now combine Docker Compose, a reverse proxy and a separate certificate tool. The material points to a need for these three jobs handled together, with less manual setup.
Your traffic stays on your server. The hosted dashboard only holds settings and status. Every change shows the exact config it will apply, and you can roll it back.

- Point a domain at a container. Latchway does the rest.

- Why this name
- A latch is the small part that lets the right visitor through a door. The name suggests routing traffic safely to the right service, and it is two plain, pronounceable words joined.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Domain to container in one step
Pick a running container, enter a hostname and port, and the route is live. No proxy config files to write or reload by hand.
No member yet
Automatic certificates
Requests and renews Let's Encrypt certificates for each route, and warns you early if a DNS record or open port blocks issuance.
No member yet
Config preview and rollback
See the exact proxy and compose changes before applying them. Every change is saved, so you can return to the last working state.

Compose stacks, managed
Import existing Docker Compose files, then start, stop, update and view logs for each service from the dashboard.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reached through content, self-hosting communities and open-source directories. Visitors to the self-hosted services never see Latchway, so use does not bring in new customers by itself.
- Do they become customers?
- Test whether self-hosters who find it through guides and communities convert from the free single-server tier to paid tiers. Exposure is not expected to produce customers.
- First customers
- Hobbyist and small-team self-hosters running 5 to 30 Docker services on one home server or VPS, who today use Compose with nginx or Caddy and a separate certificate setup.
- Where to reach them
- Self-hosting communities: Share a short walkthrough of migrating a Compose stack and offer early access in subreddits and forums for self-hosters.
- GitHub and directories: Publish the free agent and example stacks, and list it in awesome-selfhosted style lists.
- Tutorial content: Write step-by-step guides for common setups, such as adding HTTPS to a new service in minutes.
- First milestone
- Ten paying users on the Home tier within 60 days of launch, from at least two communities.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 4162 stars in 954 days
- Public claimThere is demand for high-performance reverse proxy solutions designed specifically for self-hosted container environments
- AI inferenceThe project has substantial adoption and community interest in the self-hosting space
- Public claimSelf-hosters need integrated tooling that handles reverse proxying, container orchestration, and certificate management (via Let's Encrypt) together

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalThe agent needs Docker socket access and control of a proxy. A bug or bad config could take services offline, so safe apply, validation and rollback must work before launch.
- CommercialCaddy, Traefik and nginx are established and free. Users may see little reason to pay for a dashboard on top, so the paid value must be tested early.
- PlatformA PWA cannot run the proxy itself. It depends on a host agent, and installing it is a step where some users may drop off.
- DataThe hosted service stores server settings and hostnames. Self-hosters value privacy, so a breach or unclear data handling would damage trust.
- TechnicalCertificate issuance depends on user DNS, ports and rate limits. Home networks vary widely, so support load for failed issuance may be high.
