Desktop app: DevOps engineers monitor traffic spikes, set per-agent budgets and review spike timelines in dashboards; this operational oversight requires persistent monitoring at a desk. Sample screens on a computer, in the proposed brand. Their numbers are sample data.

About this appAI proposal
Calmgate is a traffic layer that sits between your AI agents and the SaaS platforms they call, such as IT service management and workflow tools. It queues, paces and caches agent requests so a burst of automation doesn't hit the vendor's API all at once.
It is for platform and IT operations teams at large enterprises whose agent and automation traffic is growing. The material reports that vendors are pushing some customers toward self-hosting because they can't provision enough compute for agent API load. Calmgate doesn't add vendor capacity. It reduces the load you send and shows you where it comes from.
You get one place to set budgets per agent, see spikes as they form, and decide what waits and what goes through. That gives you evidence for renewal talks, and a way to test whether hosted can still work before you take on infrastructure.

- Why this name
- Calm says what it does to spiky traffic, and gate says where it sits: at the door between your agents and the SaaS API.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Burst queue
Holds agent requests in a priority queue and releases them at a pace you set, so spikes become a steady flow to the SaaS API.

Per-agent budgets
Give each agent or team a call budget per minute and per day. Over-budget calls wait, fail clearly or alert an owner.
No member yet
Read cache
Repeated lookups of tickets, records and catalogs are served from short-lived cache with rules you control.

Spike timeline
See which agents drove each surge, what was delayed, and what the vendor API returned, in one live view.

What it could be worthEstimate

Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Calmgate runs inside a company's own agent traffic and isn't visible to outsiders. It reaches customers through direct outreach, content about agent load and vendor API limits, and word of mouth between platform teams.
- Do they become customers?
- Nobody sees it by using it, so every customer comes from sales or content. Test whether platform leads will pay for a pilot after one week of traffic data.
- First customers
- Platform or IT operations leads at large enterprises running AI agents against one IT service management platform, who face a renewal in the next 12 months.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and engineering forums: Publish a write-up on measuring agent API load, with a free pilot for readers to try.
- IT operations communities: Join ITSM practitioner groups and offer a free traffic audit to members with live agent projects.
- Direct outreach: Message platform leads at enterprises with public agent projects and offer a short pilot before renewal.
- First milestone
- Three enterprise teams run a pilot on real agent traffic and two agree to pay for Team within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialCalmgate reduces load but can't add vendor capacity. If vendors cut access or the limit is contractual, queuing may not stop the push toward self-hosting.
- TechnicalA proxy in the request path becomes a single point of failure. Enterprises will demand high uptime, failover and low added latency.
- PlatformVendor terms may restrict proxying or caching their API data, and API changes could break supported integrations.
- DataCalls carry sensitive ticket and employee data. Security reviews, data residency and retention rules may slow sales.
- CommercialEvidence is thin: one Hacker News thread with public claims. Real demand among enterprise buyers is not yet shown.
