About this appAI proposal
Keepreel is a browser-based screen recorder and quick editor, installed as an app. Capture a screen, window or tab with your mic, trim the clip, and publish it as a link. The file goes to a storage bucket you own, such as Cloudflare R2, not to our servers.
It is for professionals, creators and developers who send screen clips and screenshots every day and dislike renting space on a video platform. Keyboard shortcuts and URL actions let you start a recording or share the last clip without opening a menu.
Unlike cloud-first recorders, you hold the files and the links stay on your domain. Unlike desktop-only tools, it runs on any machine with a modern browser, so teammates who are not on a Mac can use it too.

- Why this name
- Keep says the files stay yours; reel is the old word for a recording. Two plain words, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One-key capture
Start a screen, window or tab recording, or grab a screenshot, from a customizable shortcut. Each action has its own key binding.

Bring your own bucket
Connect a Cloudflare R2 or other S3-compatible bucket. Clips upload straight from your browser and stay in your account.

Trim and tidy
Cut the start and end, remove a middle section, and mute a segment. Edits run in the browser, so nothing is sent away to be processed.

Links on your domain
Share clips from your own domain, with optional expiry and password. Delete a clip and its file is removed from your bucket.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Each shared clip opens a viewer page on the sender's domain with a small, removable Made with Keepreel note and a link to record a reply clip.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers can become users through the reply button, but most only watch once. Test whether recipients who reply create an account and whether senders keep the note on.
- First customers
- Freelance and small-team software developers who send bug repro clips and demos to clients or teammates, and already pay for Loom or CleanShot.
- Where to reach them
- Developer communities: Post a short demo of a bug clip going to your own R2 bucket in open-source and indie developer forums.
- GitHub: Publish a small open-source uploader and URL-action examples that point to the app.
- Cloudflare R2 users: Write a setup guide for self-hosted clip sharing that targets people searching for storage costs.
- First milestone
- Twenty developers use it weekly for a month, and five of them pay for Solo.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformBrowsers limit global shortcuts and system-wide capture. A PWA cannot match a native Mac app for hotkeys, menu bar use or system audio capture.
- TechnicalIn-browser editing and long recordings can strain memory, and output formats differ between browsers, which affects playback of shared links.
- CommercialUsers who want a bucket may be a narrow group. Setting up R2 credentials is a hurdle that may put off people who just want a link.
- CommercialFree open-source alternatives exist in the material, so paying for a web version needs a clear gain, such as team features.
- DataUsers store bucket keys in the app. Mishandled credentials or public buckets could leak private recordings.
