About this appAI proposal
Pushrack turns your own servers into a deployment platform. Point it at a bare metal box or a rented VPS, connect a Git repo, and each push builds, ships and serves your full-stack app with HTTPS, previews and rollbacks.
It is for full-stack developers and small teams who like the convenience of managed platforms but don't want to pay for them by resource or deployment. You keep the machines and the data. Pushrack is the control layer on top.
Unlike scripts you write yourself, it ships as a ready product: a guided server setup, a dashboard, health checks and a clear view of what each app costs you to run. Moving off it means keeping your servers and containers.

- Why this name
- Push is the git action that triggers a deploy. Rack is the server rack where the app runs. Together they say what happens, in two short words.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Server setup in one command
Run one command on a fresh Linux machine. Pushrack installs the runtime, firewall rules and agent, then shows the server as ready in the dashboard.

Deploy on git push
Connect a repo. Each push builds a container from a Dockerfile or detected framework, runs health checks and switches traffic only when the new version is up.

Preview URLs per branch
Every pull request gets its own URL on your domain and is removed when the branch merges, so reviews don't need a staging server.

Automatic HTTPS and domains
Add a domain, point DNS, and certificates are issued and renewed for you. Routing between apps on the same server is handled by Pushrack.

PricingAI proposal
Based on Vercel's verified pricing page: one paid plan at $20 a month plus a free plan. Fly.io lists paid plans from $29 to $2,500 a month. These tiers undercut both and are a starting point to test.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Pushrack runs on customers' own servers and serves their apps, not ours. Reach comes from developer content, open-source setup guides, and word of mouth in self-hosting communities.
- Do they become customers?
- Visitors to deployed apps never see Pushrack, so no loop exists. Test whether setup guides and comparison posts turn self-hosting readers into free users, then into paying ones.
- First customers
- Solo full-stack developers and teams of two to five who already rent a VPS or own a server and run several small web apps on Fly.io or Vercel.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and Show HN: Post a build log about moving a real app off a managed platform, with measured monthly cost before and after.
- Self-hosting communities: Share setup guides and answer migration questions in self-hosting forums and subreddits, linking the free tier.
- Migration guides: Publish step-by-step guides for moving a Next.js app and a Postgres database from Vercel or Fly.io.
- First milestone
- Ten developers deploy a real app on the free tier, and five of them pay for Solo or Team within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimDevelopers perceive cloud infrastructure platforms as expensive and seek alternatives
- Public claimThere is demand for deployment tooling that provides Vercel-like convenience on self-hosted infrastructure
- Public claimBuilding such a solution takes significant engineering effort
- VerifiedVercel's pricing page lists 1 paid plan, at $20 a month, plus a free plan and prices on request for larger customers

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalRunning on many different customer machines, networks and OS setups causes support-heavy failures. The first version must support one OS and one container path well.
- CommercialFree open-source tools already cover part of this need, and the material says building it takes significant effort. Developers may not pay for a control layer on top.
- RegulatoryServers hold customer apps and secrets. Handling access tokens and Git credentials needs careful security and clear terms on what Pushrack can see.
- PlatformDepends on Git hosts' APIs and webhooks, and on container and proxy projects whose changes or licences could break features.
- DataDatabase backups and rollbacks on single machines can lose data if disks fail. Restore tests and clear warnings are required before promoting managed databases.
