About this appAI proposal
Stillroom runs isolated code sandboxes for your AI agents on a machine you control. One install on a single server gives your agents a place to run code, with an API shaped like E2B's so existing agent code can point at it with little change.
Sandboxes nobody is using are put to sleep and cost only disk space. They wake when the agent calls again, with files and state intact. A small PWA dashboard shows what is running, what is asleep, and what each agent has touched.
It is made for teams that want control over where agent code runs, whether for cost, lock-in or compliance reasons, and do not want to assemble containers and a hardened runtime by hand.

- Why this name
- A still room is a quiet, closed space. It suggests isolation and sandboxes that rest when not in use.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
E2B-style API
Create sandboxes, run code, read and write files and close them through an API shaped like E2B's. Moving over should mean changing a URL and key.

Sleep when idle
Idle sandboxes are paused and their state saved. Nothing runs between calls; they wake on the next request.
No member yet
One-machine install
One command sets up the runtime and API on a single Linux server. Add more machines later if you need them.
No member yet
Isolation by default
Each sandbox runs in a hardened container runtime, with no network unless allowed, and CPU, memory and time limits you set.

PricingAI proposal
E2B's pricing page lists a free plan, one paid plan at $150 a month, and prices on request for larger customers. These tiers sit below that paid plan as a starting point to test; the material gives no other prices.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. It is installed on a team's own servers and used behind their product, so use does not expose it to others. Reach comes from open-source listings, docs, migration guides and word of mouth among developers.
- Do they become customers?
- Those reached are the builders who run it, so they can buy. To test: whether free installs convert to paid Team tiers once they need audit logs or several machines.
- First customers
- Small engineering teams of 3 to 20 people building agent products who already use or tried E2B and have a security or cost reason to host code execution themselves.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open-source forums: Publish an E2B migration guide and a one-command demo to reach developers searching for self-hosted sandboxes.
- AI engineering communities: Share benchmarks of idle cost and wake time in Discord and Slack groups for agent builders.
- Direct outreach: Message teams that mention sandbox costs or compliance needs in public issues and offer a free setup call.
- First milestone
- Ten teams run Stillroom with real agents for a month, and three pay for the Team tier.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalReliable pause and wake with state intact, and real isolation of hostile code, is hard. A single escape or lost state would end trust.
- PlatformE2B can change its API at any time, so staying compatible is ongoing work and may be only partial.
- CommercialFree open-source alternatives may satisfy most teams; paying for support and compliance must be proven.
- RegulatoryBuyers with compliance needs may ask for certifications that a small team cannot get quickly.
- DataAudit logs may hold sensitive agent data, so retention and access rules must be clear.
