About this appAI proposal
Logbarn collects, stores and searches logs from your servers and containers, entirely inside your own network. It runs from a single Docker command and installs as a PWA, so on-call engineers open it on a laptop or phone without a separate client.
It is built for DevOps and infrastructure teams in finance, healthcare and government, where logs may not leave the building. Retention rules, field masking and an export of deletions are on by default, to support GDPR work.
Unlike a multi-service search stack, it is one small service with sensible defaults, so no one has to tune clusters to read a log line. Unlike hosted platforms, nothing is sent out.

- Why this name
- A barn is a plain place to store things on your own land. It suggests ownership, storage and no fuss, like the product.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One-command Docker install
Start a single container or compose file and get a working instance with ingest and search. No cluster sizing or pipeline set-up first.
No member yet
Fast search across all sources
Type plain words or field filters and get results by time range, host, service and level, with saved searches for repeat checks.

Data stays on your infrastructure
Logs are stored on disks you control. The app makes no outbound calls with log content, and you can verify this from the network settings page.
No member yet
Privacy rules by default
Set retention per source, mask emails, IPs or custom patterns on ingest, and keep a record of deletions for audits.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Self-hosted installs sit inside private networks, so use creates little outside exposure. Customers come from open documentation, install guides, community posts and direct outreach.
- Do they become customers?
- Exposure is limited by design. Test whether free installs by engineers turn into paid team licenses when they need alerts, retention rules or audit export.
- First customers
- Platform and DevOps leads at 100 to 1,000 person fintech and health software companies that keep logs on-premises for data residency reasons.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and Docker Hub: Publish the free image with clear install docs and a comparison page on set-up time and data flow.
- DevOps communities: Share a guide on GDPR-minded log retention in forums and meetups where infrastructure engineers gather.
- Direct outreach: Contact security and platform leads at regulated companies with an offer of a guided pilot.
- First milestone
- Five paying teams in finance or health software on the Team or Regulated tier within 90 days of launch.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalSearch speed and disk use at high log volume on one node may fall short of what larger enterprises need, limiting the first buyers to mid-size volumes.
- CommercialA free self-hosted tier may convert few users to paid, and regulated buyers often need long procurement before they pay.
- RegulatoryDefault privacy settings help with GDPR but do not make a customer compliant. Claims must be worded carefully.
- PlatformExisting agents and shippers may change formats, so ingest compatibility needs ongoing upkeep.
- CommercialEvidence of demand is one repository's star growth plus public claims. Paying intent is not yet shown.
