About this appAI proposal
Rackleaf is a control panel you install on your own VPS or dedicated server. It handles domains, databases, users and resource monitoring from one web interface, so a small team can run its servers without a commercial panel licence.
It is built for system administrators, small hosting providers and development teams who manage a handful to a few dozen servers. Each action in the panel shows the change it will make before it runs, and every change is logged by user.
Unlike older panels, Rackleaf is meant to work as an installable app on a phone or laptop, with a plain layout and an API for each action. The core is free to self-host. Paid plans add support, migration help and managed options.

- Why this name
- A rack is where servers live; a leaf suggests something light and growing. Two plain words joined, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One-command install
Install on a fresh VPS with one command. A setup check confirms ports, DNS and the OS before anything changes.

Databases
Create databases and users, set access rules, and run or download backups without opening a shell.

PricingAI proposal
The material gives no competitor prices. It only says an existing project is positioned as a free alternative to cPanel and Plesk. These tiers are a starting point to test.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Admins find the free core through code hosting, search and admin communities, then install it themselves. Its use does not by itself show the product to people outside the team.
- Do they become customers?
- Those reached are admins who can pay directly. Test whether free installs turn into paid support or migration plans, and whether hosting providers will adopt it for their clients.
- First customers
- Small hosting providers and freelance admins with 5 to 30 VPS servers who now pay for a commercial panel licence per server.
- Where to reach them
- Open-source code hosting: Publish the free core with a clear install guide and a public roadmap, and answer issues quickly.
- Web hosting forums: Post migration write-ups and honest comparisons in communities where small hosts discuss panels.
- Direct outreach: Offer free migration of one server to ten small providers in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Ten providers run it on live servers and five pay for the Team or Provider plan within 90 days of launch.

- This app · Server agentSmall signed daemon installed on each serverThe panel must run commands, edit configs and read metrics on the host, which a web app alone cannot do.
- This app · Job queueQueue with retries and per-server locksServer changes take time and can fail, so they must run in order and report back.
RisksAI inference
- TechnicalA panel with root access to servers is a high-value target. A flaw in the agent or API could expose every customer server, so security review is needed before launch.
- CommercialFree open-source panels already exist. Admins may not pay for a newer interface unless support or migration clearly saves them time.
- TechnicalSupporting many Linux distributions, web servers and mail setups multiplies the testing needed for a first version.
- CommercialFree self-hosted software may convert few users to paid plans. It must be tested whether support and migration are what people will pay for.
- Intellectual propertyThe name needs a trademark check, and any code reused from open-source panels must be compatible with the chosen licence.
