About this appAI proposal
Proofshelf is a store for specialized agent skills: contract redlining, video generation, website design and other jobs that a general AI agent does poorly. Each skill is a package you add to the agent you already use.
Every listing shows before-and-after results on sample tasks, the agents it works with, and what it asks permission to touch. You can run a skill on a sample file in a sandbox before paying.
It is built for engineers and technical people who use agents for work outside their field and cannot easily judge the output. Human review of each listing and visible version history make quality easier to trust.

- Why this name
- A shelf holds finished, usable things. 'Proof' signals that every skill shows results and tests before you buy.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Results before purchase
Each skill page shows input and output pairs from sample tasks, so you judge quality before paying.

Sandbox trial
Run a skill on a sample file in an isolated space. No install, and no access to your own data.

Human-reviewed listings
A reviewer checks each skill against its stated tasks and permissions before it goes live.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Creators and buyers share skill pages and sample-result links, such as a redlined sample, on forums and in repos. Each page shows the Proofshelf name and a try-in-sandbox button.
- Do they become customers?
- Visitors to a shared page can try a sandbox run and buy, so they can become customers. Test whether trial-to-purchase conversion is high enough and whether creators share their pages.
- First customers
- Solo developers and small engineering teams using AI coding agents, who need legal, design or video work done as a side task.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Post sample-result pages and join threads on agent capability gaps, where the demand was voiced.
- Direct creator outreach: Invite 10 people who already publish agent prompts or skills to list one tested skill each.
- Open-source communities: Share free example skills in agent communities, with links to paid ones.
- First milestone
- Ten skills from five creators listed, and 20 paying buyers in the first 60 days, mostly in one domain such as contracts.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialTwo-sided marketplace cold start: buyers need good skills and creators need buyers. Many technical users may build their own skills or find free ones.
- TechnicalSkill formats differ across agents and change fast, so one package may not work everywhere and needs ongoing upkeep.
- DataA malicious or careless skill could leak files or run harmful commands inside a buyer's agent. Review and scanning reduce this but cannot remove it.
- RegulatoryLegal skills such as contract review may be read as legal advice. Listings need clear wording that output is not a lawyer's opinion.
- AISample results may not match results on a buyer's own files, which can cause refunds and weaken trust.
