About this appAI proposal
Steadyhand sits between your team and the cloud coding agents you already use. You pin the agent behaviour and API version your pipelines were built on. When a provider changes something, Steadyhand replays your own saved tasks first and shows what differs before it reaches your workflow.
It is for development teams that have wired cloud agents into daily work and are tired of weekly surprises, missing documentation and unanswered support tickets. Each change gets a plain-language notice, a result diff, and a way to stay on the pinned version.
Paid plans include a named support contact and a written response time. This is a proposal: pinning and replay must be proven against real provider interfaces before any guarantee is promised.

- Why this name
- A steady hand is what teams want when tools shift under them. Two plain words, easy to say and spell.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Version pinning
Lock the agent behaviour and API version each pipeline uses, and move to a new one only when you choose.

Replay checks on your tasks
Save real agent tasks as test cases. Each detected provider change is replayed against them and compared with the pinned result.

Plain-language change notices
Every detected change gets a short note: what changed, who is affected and what to do about it.
No member yet
Breaking-change alerts
Get email, chat or webhook alerts when a replay differs, before your team hits it in production.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.
If it makes
Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Teams export change records and diff reports to managers, vendors and colleagues, and post public status and change pages that show Steadyhand's name and link to sign-up.
- Do they become customers?
- Readers are often other engineers and leads at similar companies who could pay, but many only view a report once. Test whether shared reports lead to sign-ups.
- First customers
- Engineering leads at 10-to-50-person software companies that run cloud coding agents in CI or code review and have had a pipeline break after a provider change.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and developer forums: Post a public tracker of detected agent changes and invite people with the same complaints to try pinning.
- Direct outreach to engineering leads: Message leads who describe breakage publicly, and offer a free audit of one pipeline.
- Open source CI communities: Share a free replay check others can add to their workflow, linking to Steadyhand.
- First milestone
- Five teams paying for the Team plan within 60 days, each with at least three pipelines pinned.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub Copilot's pricing page lists 2 paid plans, from $4 to $21 a month, plus a free plan
- Public claimDevelopment teams paying 4-5 figure amounts for cloud agentic services experience unannounced breaking changes weekly with zero documentation
- Public claimSupport for paying customers in the 4-5 figure range goes unanswered
- Public claimTeams are paying customers for cloud agentic development platforms

RisksAI inference
- PlatformProviders may not expose stable interfaces for replay, or may change terms to block third-party proxies and testing, limiting what can be pinned.
- TechnicalAgent output is non-deterministic, so telling a real regression from normal variation in replays is hard and could cause false alarms.
- CommercialProviders may fix stability and support themselves, and teams may not pay for a layer on top of a tool they already buy.
- DataReplays handle customer code and credentials, so security review and data handling will block many buyers early.
- CommercialThe evidence is public claims from forum posts only; how widespread the pain is and what teams would pay is unverified.
