About this appAI proposal
Tidewrack watches the pull requests your AI coding agents open and flags the debt they leave: slow queries, bloated functions, copy-pasted blocks, hardcoded values and code that is hard to maintain. Each finding gets an impact score and an estimated cost to fix.
It is built for B2B SaaS teams and founders who ship several sprints of work a week with AI agents and still have to keep the product sound for years. Instead of a long manual retrospective, you get a short ranked list of the fixes worth making.
You set a refactoring budget for each week. Tidewrack picks the best fixes within it and drafts each one as a pull request for a person to review. It never merges on its own.

- Why this name
- Wrack is what the tide leaves on a beach. Tidewrack stands for the debris fast-moving agents leave in a codebase, and for sorting it regularly.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Agent-authored code detection
Tags commits and pull requests from AI agents using commit trailers, bot accounts and branch rules you set, so debt is tracked by source.

Debt pattern checks
Flags hardcoded values, oversized functions, duplicated logic, deep nesting, and likely slow queries or loops in changed code.

Impact against fix cost ranking
Each finding shows the hot path it touches, how often that code changes, and the estimated effort. Sort by return.

Weekly refactor budget
Set a cap in tokens or hours. Tidewrack fills it with the highest-return fixes and leaves the rest in the backlog.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Tidewrack runs inside a team's own repos and reports to that team. Pull request comments are seen by teammates who already use it, so there is no real outside loop.
- Do they become customers?
- It reaches customers through content, communities and direct sales. Test whether founders reading shared debt reports or PR comments ask to try it.
- First customers
- Founders and engineering leads at B2B SaaS companies with 3 to 15 developers who ship weekly with AI agents in one language, such as TypeScript.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Post write-ups of debt patterns found in agent-written code and offer free scans of a public repo.
- Founder communities: Offer a free first scan and a short ranked report to SaaS founders in indie and bootstrapped groups.
- Direct outreach: Contact engineering leads who write publicly about shipping with AI agents and offer a pilot.
- First milestone
- Five paying B2B SaaS teams on the Team plan within 60 days, and at least half of drafted fix pull requests merged.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimEstablished B2B SaaS founders with paying customer bases use AI agents to ship multiple sprints of work weekly while maintaining product quality over multi-year lifecycles.
- AI inferenceAI-generated code compounds technical debt at scale: poor performance, verbosity, complexity, hardcoding, and maintainability issues that manual review processes cannot keep pace with.
- AI inferenceExisting solutions require human code review and judgment; systematic technical debt coverage cycles with explicit token budgets for refactoring are necessary but labor-intensive.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialTeams may rely on existing linters and code review and see little need to pay for a separate tool. Demand must be tested with paying teams.
- AIImpact and effort estimates may be wrong, and drafted fixes may introduce bugs. Human review is required, and trust depends on accuracy.
- PlatformDepends on GitHub and similar APIs. Code hosts or AI agent vendors could add debt checks to their own products.
- DataCustomers must trust a new vendor with private source code. Security review may slow sales to established B2B teams.
- TechnicalLanguage support is wide. A first version must pick one or two languages to keep false positives low.
