About this appAI proposal
Foldlog turns the long, noisy output of AI coding agents running in the terminal into a short, readable session. Each tool call, script and command becomes one line with a status and a summary. Tap a line to see the full output when something goes wrong.
It is for developers who let an agent run commands and then scroll through every intermediate result to find what mattered. A small wrapper streams the agent's output to Foldlog while your terminal stays as it is, so you can read the clean version in a browser or on your phone.
Foldlog hides nothing for good. Everything is kept, you choose what is folded per tool or per session, and you can share a folded view with a teammate by link.

- Why this name
- Fold names the core action of collapsing output, and log is what developers read. Short, easy to say, and a plain compound.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One line per tool call
Every command, script and file edit the agent runs shows as a single line with status, duration and a short summary.

Expand only what you need
Tap any call to open its full output, including errors and debug text. Fold it again without losing your place.

Folding rules by tool
Set rules such as always fold package installs, always open failed tests, or fold anything over 200 lines.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. A developer shares a folded session link in a pull request, issue or chat. The teammate sees a clean view of what the agent did, with the steps that matter opened.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers are developers who may use the same agents, so some could sign up. To test: how many people who open a link create an account, and how many of those install the wrapper.
- First customers
- Individual developers and small teams of 2 to 10 engineers who run an AI coding agent in the terminal daily and review its work in pull requests.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub issue threads: Reply with a working demo in the threads where developers report cluttered agent output, including the one in the evidence.
- Developer communities: Post a short demo of a session before and after folding in forums and chats for AI coding tools.
- Open-source wrapper: Release the free wrapper and link shared sessions back to Foldlog.
- First milestone
- 50 developers install the wrapper and 5 teams pay for Pro or Team within 60 days of launch.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedOpen GitHub issue has 48 reactions and 17 comments
- Public claimDevelopers find tool output and debugging information in AI-assisted TUI too verbose and hard to parse
- Public claimAI-assisted terminal tools show full intermediate results for each command invocation, creating terminal clutter

RisksAI inference
- PlatformAgent tools may add their own output folding, which would remove the main reason to use Foldlog. Output formats may also change between versions and break the parser.
- TechnicalReading agent output from a terminal is fragile: colour codes, redraws and interleaved streams must be parsed into clean steps for many tools.
- DataSessions can contain secrets and private code. A leak would end trust, so masking and retention need care from day one.
- CommercialThe only evidence is one issue with 48 reactions. Developers may want a setting in their own tool, not a separate app, and may not pay.
- AIGenerated summaries can leave out the line that matters. Raw output must stay one tap away and the summary must be marked as generated.
