About this appAI proposal
Sidepay gives developers one API for accepting payments outside the Visa and Mastercard networks. Instead of building a separate integration for each wallet, regional scheme or crypto option, you use one checkout and one webhook format, and switch on the methods you want.
Some alternative methods cannot charge a customer again on their own. Sidepay treats that as a normal case: for a subscription paid this way, it emails the customer a pay link before the due date, tracks the result, and reports it as the same subscription event you already handle.
It is for small teams and merchants selling to customers in regions where cards are not the default, who want fewer custom workarounds in their billing code.

- Why this name
- Side suggests the other lanes beside the card duopoly; pay says the job. Two plain syllable groups, easy to say. A trademark check is still needed.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One checkout, many methods
Create a payment once and let the customer pick from the methods you enabled, such as Wero, RuPay, WeChat Pay, AliPay or crypto.

Normalized webhooks
Every method reports paid, failed, expired and refunded in one event shape, so your backend has one code path.

Smart subscriptions
Methods that cannot auto-renew trigger a renewal email with a pay link. Others renew silently. Your app sees one subscription.

Renewal reminder schedule
Set how many days before the due date and how often customers are reminded. Lapse rules decide when access ends.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Customers open Sidepay-hosted pay links and renewal emails from merchants. These pages carry a small Sidepay mark and a link to the developer site.
- Do they become customers?
- Most payers are consumers, not buyers of an API. Some are developers or merchants. Test whether the mark on pay pages produces any signups from merchants.
- First customers
- Indie developers and small SaaS teams in Europe or North America with paying customers in India or China, who now maintain separate payment integrations.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Post a technical write-up on handling non-renewing payment methods in subscriptions, linking to a free sandbox.
- Direct outreach to SaaS founders: Find founders asking about regional payments and offer a free integration in exchange for feedback.
- First milestone
- Five small SaaS teams run live payments on two or more methods and at least three pay a monthly fee.
Why people already pay for this
- Public claimDevelopers and merchants would pay for a unified aggregation layer across alternative payment systems not tied to Visa/Mastercard
- Public claimThere is demand to support multiple alternative payment systems including Wero, RuPay, WeChat Pay, AliPay, and crypto
- Public claimLack of unified API for these payment methods creates friction; developers need to handle each separately with custom logic for subscription handling

RisksAI inference
- RegulatoryMoving money across countries may require licences or reliance on licensed partners. Rules differ by method and region, and some may limit who can sell through an aggregator.
- PlatformAccess to Wero, RuPay, WeChat Pay and AliPay may depend on partner agreements or merchant eligibility that a small team cannot get quickly.
- CommercialEvidence is public claims only. It must be tested whether developers will pay and switch from their current integrations.
- TechnicalMethods differ in refunds, timing and failure states. Normalizing them without losing detail is hard, and renewal emails convert less than auto-charge.
- DataPayment and customer data across regions raises privacy and storage-location obligations.
