About this appAI proposal
Plainfeed gives AI agent builders and automation engineers one hosted API and one command line for reading public data from social and shopping platforms, including Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, Bilibili, Kuaishou, Weibo, Xianyu, Taobao, JD.com and X. Every platform returns the same JSON shape.
Instead of keeping a separate scraper or integration per platform, you write one query. Plainfeed handles sessions, rate limits and format differences, and gives your agent a stable schema with a field naming the source.
It is for small teams who want to spend time on the agent, not on repairing integrations when a platform changes. Humans use the CLI; agents call the same commands as tools.

- Why this name
- Plain means one clear format; feed is the stream of posts and products. Two simple words, easy to say and type in a terminal.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
One schema for every platform
Posts, products, prices, authors and comments come back in the same JSON fields, whatever the source.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Ship tool definitions and examples for popular agent frameworks and automation tools, so builders find Plainfeed inside the tools where they wire up agents.
- Do they become customers?
- People finding it in agent frameworks are developers who can sign up and pay. Test whether free-tier users from tool listings convert to Builder within 30 days.
- First customers
- Solo developers and teams of 2 to 10 building AI agents for cross-border e-commerce research or social listening across Chinese and Western platforms.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open-source forums: Reach people starring or discussing similar unified CLI projects; offer a hosted option to those tired of maintaining scrapers.
- Agent builder communities: Post worked examples of agents using Plainfeed in Discord, Reddit and developer forums.
- Technical content: Write guides on normalizing data across Xiaohongshu, Douyin and Taobao for agents.
- First milestone
- Five paying Builder customers in cross-border e-commerce research within 60 days of launch.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 400 stars in 17 days
- Public claimA unified command-line tool and JSON interface for extracting data from multiple social and e-commerce platforms (Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, Bilibili, Kuaishou, Weibo, Xianyu, Taobao, JD.com, X) designed for both humans and AI agents.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformPlatforms change pages and block automated access often. Keeping ten sources working is ongoing work and may break without notice.
- RegulatoryCollecting data from platforms may breach their terms and local data rules, especially for Chinese sources. Needs legal review and a public-data-only scope.
- CommercialThe evidence is a repository's star growth and a public claim. Stars do not show that teams will pay for a hosted service.
- CommercialAn open-source CLI could be self-hosted for free, so the paid value must be reliability, upkeep and alerts.
- TechnicalProxy and headless-browser costs may grow faster than call-based pricing, squeezing margins on the lower tiers.
