About this appAI proposal
Mapwell sits between your AI agents and the systems your company runs on, such as a CRM, a help desk, a chat tool and a task tracker. It builds an index of what data exists, so an agent can look up what matters first and then fetch only those records, instead of calling APIs step after step.
It is made for teams building agents that must answer questions across several tools. Mapwell handles sign-in, paging, filters and schema details, and links the same customer or deal across systems, so the agent receives compact, structured context.
Thin wrappers over vendor APIs leave discovery and matching to the agent. Mapwell moves that work into a layer you can inspect, so you can see what each answer used and what it cost in calls and tokens.

- Why this name
- A map shows what exists before you travel; a well is a dependable source. Mapwell is short, easy to say, and describes discovery plus reliable access.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Indexed data discovery
Agents ask what exists before they query. Mapwell returns object types, fields and likely matches, so no endpoint or ID has to be known in advance.

Cross-system entity matching
Link one account, person or deal across CRM, support and chat. Review proposed matches and fix wrong ones by hand.

Compact context retrieval
Ask in plain terms and get a trimmed, structured bundle with source links, instead of raw API pages the agent must sift.

Auth, paging and schema handled
Connect each system once. Token refresh, pagination, filters and field changes are managed in the layer, not in agent prompts.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Partners and integrations. Mapwell is listed where agent builders look for tools: MCP directories and agent framework guides. Each agent that connects shows a Mapwell endpoint in its setup.
- Do they become customers?
- Builders who find it through those listings are the paying buyers, but listings may only bring hobbyists. Test whether listing visitors connect two real systems and move to a paid tier.
- First customers
- Small teams of 3–15 engineers building customer-facing support or revenue agents that read from a CRM, a help desk and a chat tool.
- Where to reach them
- Hacker News and dev forums: Post a write-up comparing calls and tokens per question against direct vendor MCPs on a public demo dataset.
- MCP and agent communities: Offer a free connector and answer questions about cross-system agent failures in public channels.
- First milestone
- Five teams each connect at least three systems and three pay for Team after a 30-day trial.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedHacker News post received 156 points and 48 comments
- AI inferenceAgents performing cross-system queries face severe inefficiency issues, exemplified by a real production agent that required 47 steps to answer a business question, consuming excessive tokens and returning incorrect results.
- Public claimAgents lack the ability to discover what data matters before reasoning, requiring them to know API endpoints and object IDs upfront, which is a fundamental limitation.
- Public claimAPI plumbing challenges like authentication, pagination, filters, schema handling, and entity matching across systems are prevalent blockers for agent workflows.

RisksAI inference
- PlatformSource vendors can change API terms, rate limits or block third-party indexing of their data, and each connector needs ongoing upkeep.
- DataIndexing customer records from CRM and support tools raises security and privacy duties; buyers may demand audits before connecting.
- CommercialVendors may improve their own MCPs, and agent frameworks may add built-in discovery, narrowing the gap.
- AIWrong entity matches could feed agents false context. Matching needs confidence scores and human review.
- TechnicalKeeping the index fresh across many systems while holding token and call savings is hard. The market evidence gives only public claims, not independent results.
