About this appAI proposal
Tracewell brings your lab reports, wearable exports, genetic results and medical records into one private timeline. Ask a plain question, such as how your sleep changed after a medication change, and get an answer that links back to the exact readings it used.
It is built for people who track their own health, small clinics that combine several data sources, and researchers working with health data. Run it on your own server to keep files under your control, or use a hosted copy if you prefer not to host.
Apps tied to one device or one provider only see part of the picture. Tracewell treats every source as equal and shows its work. Each insight lists the records behind it, so you can check it, correct it or share it with your clinician.

- Why this name
- Trace points to following each insight back to its source; well suggests health and a deep place to draw from.

What it could be worthEstimate
What a software business making this much sells for today, from real deals. Pick a monthly revenue.

Worth about
$194,000
Sale range $132,000 to $263,000
$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users send clinicians or study teams a read-only share pack with a link. The recipient sees the timeline and cited sources, with the product name on the page.
- Do they become customers?
- Clinicians who open a pack may become Practice customers, but a one-time view brings none by itself. Test how many recipients ask to import their own patients' data.
- First customers
- Quantified-self practitioners who already export data from several wearables and keep lab results, starting with those comfortable self-hosting.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and open-source communities: Publish a self-host guide and sample data, and reach people already following similar privacy-first health projects.
- Quantified-self forums: Share worked examples of cross-source questions and invite users to try the hosted copy.
- First milestone
- Fifty people import data from at least two sources and ten pay for the hosted Personal plan within 90 days.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 1369 stars in 316 days
- Public claimHealth data is scattered across multiple sources including lab reports, wearables, and genetics, lacking a unified interface for analysis.
- Public claimThe product enables self-hosted deployment to preserve privacy, indicating privacy concerns with cloud-based alternatives.
- Public claimThere is a use case around interpreting and tracing health data insights, distinct from just storage.

RisksAI inference
- RegulatoryHealth data brings HIPAA and GDPR duties for the hosted version and for clinics. Answers may be read as medical advice, so wording and disclaimers need legal review.
- AIA model may misread a lab value or invent a link between sources. Citations and a review step reduce this but do not remove it.
- TechnicalLab PDFs and wearable exports vary widely, so import quality will differ and needs steady upkeep.
- CommercialSelf-hosting appeals to privacy-minded users but may not pay. The only market evidence is repository interest, not payment, so willingness to pay is unproven.
- PlatformWearable and phone health platforms may limit export access, which would restrict what can be imported.
