About this appAI proposal
Reelkit Shelf is a library for video templates that AI coding agents can use. You build a template once in React-based video code, describe its inputs, and publish it. Claude Code, Codex and other agents then call it through one standard skill instead of a custom setup each.
It is for developers and small teams, including agencies, that make videos programmatically through agents. Each template has typed inputs, a preview and a version. Agents fill in the inputs, the platform renders, and the same template gives the same look every time.
Unlike one-off prompts or per-agent scripts, a template lives in one place. Fix a layout or update a brand colour once, and every agent and project picks up the new version.

- Why this name
- Reel is film, kit is a set of parts, and Shelf is where templates wait to be reused by any agent.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Build once, reuse everywhere
Import a Remotion-style template, declare its inputs, and use it from any supported agent without rewriting it.

Generated agent skills
Each template produces a ready skill file and a plain description of its inputs that agents can read and call.

Typed inputs with validation
Agents get clear errors when titles, durations or asset links are wrong, so they fix the call instead of guessing.

Preview before render
Check a still frame or short clip from any input set before spending render time on the full video.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Rendered videos can carry an optional small 'made with Reelkit Shelf' end card, and public template pages let people preview and fork a template into their own shelf.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers of a video rarely become buyers. Forkable public templates reach developers who might. Test whether forks turn into signups and paid Builder plans.
- First customers
- Small agencies and developer-marketing teams of 2 to 10 people who already generate product videos with Claude Code or Codex.
- Where to reach them
- GitHub and Remotion community: Publish free open templates and agent skills, and answer questions where the 418-star repository's users gather.
- Developer social posts: Share short demos of one template rendered by two different agents, with the source linked.
- Direct outreach to agencies: Offer a free setup of three branded templates to ten agencies in return for feedback.
- First milestone
- Ten teams use a shared template from two different agents, and five of them pay for Builder or Team within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- CommercialEvidence is only repository interest (418 stars in 5 days). It is unproven that teams will pay for template reuse instead of writing their own.
- PlatformAgent skill and tool formats change quickly. Supporting several agents may need constant upkeep.
- TechnicalServer-side rendering is slow and costly at scale, and margins on usage-based plans could be thin.
- Intellectual propertyBuilding on Remotion may carry licence terms for commercial or team use that must be checked before launch.
- DataUsers upload brand assets and may include third-party footage or music, creating rights and storage concerns.
