About this appAI proposal
Dialside turns the shows and films you already own into always-on TV channels. Connect a Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server, or point it at a folder with NFO files. Build channels like Saturday Cartoons or Late Night Noir, and Dialside lays out a schedule you can browse in a classic grid guide.
Every channel is published as a standard IPTV playlist and guide feed, so any compatible player on a TV, phone or laptop can tune in. No more scrolling a library to pick something: turn on a channel and it is already playing.
It is made for people who keep their own libraries and miss linear television. Rules and templates do the scheduling work, and an optional hosted plan means you do not have to run extra scripts at home.

- Why this name
- A dial is how people once picked a channel, and a side is a place on it. The name is short and easy to say.

Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.

How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- No loop in the product. Reach comes through self-hosting communities, guides and content. Feed links are used by the owner's own players, so use does not spread to new people.
- Do they become customers?
- Viewers in a household might ask for their own profile, but that is untested. Test whether households upgrade to Plus or Hosted after a free trial.
- First customers
- Home users who run Jellyfin or Plex and already use IPTV players, and who want a TV guide for their own library.
- Where to reach them
- Self-hosting forums: Share setup guides and templates in Jellyfin, Plex and self-hosted communities.
- GitHub community: Reach users of the existing open source project by answering their requests for easier setup.
- First milestone
- Twenty free users build channels, and ten of them pay for Plus or Hosted within 60 days.
Why people already pay for this
- VerifiedGitHub repository gained 2636 stars in 996 days
- Public claimUsers want to create a classic TV experience from their own personal media across multiple media server platforms
- AI inferenceThe software has significant adoption among self-hosted media enthusiasts

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalHome servers sit behind private networks, so a cloud service may not reach them or stream from them without a relay or an agent.
- PlatformPlex, Jellyfin and Emby may change their APIs or terms, and could add their own channel features.
- CommercialOpen source projects serve this need for free, so many users may refuse to pay for it.
- RegulatoryA hosted option that streams user media could raise copyright questions if it is used to share content.
- CommercialThe verified GitHub star count shows interest, not willingness to pay.
