About this appAI proposal
Hearthside lets a non-technical founder launch a niche dating or matchmaking community as an installable web app. Set profile questions, matching rules, house rules and look in a guided editor, then publish under your own domain and brand.
You keep control of your member list. Export members, messages and settings at any time. Moderation, member approval and paid memberships are built in, so you spend time on the community and not on servers or code.
Self-hosted dating kits ask you to install and maintain PHP software yourself. Hearthside is hosted first, with a full data export, so you get ownership without the server work.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Users invite others. Operators invite their existing audience, such as a club, newsletter or forum, and members invite friends into the community. Each community carries the operator's brand, with a small Hearthside credit on the free tier.
- Do they become customers?
- Members see the operator's brand, so few become Hearthside customers. The credit on free sites may reach other would-be operators. Test how many free-tier visitors start their own community.
- First customers
- Solo community organisers who already run a niche group with an audience, such as a hobby club or faith or interest-based meetup, and want a private matchmaking space.
- Where to reach them
- Community owner forums: Post setup walkthroughs where niche community operators ask how to start a dating or matchmaking site.
- Open-source dating users: Reach people discussing self-hosted dating software and offer a hosted path with full export.
- Direct outreach: Message organisers of niche meetup groups and offer a free launch of their first community.
- First milestone
- Ten operators launch a community with 50 or more members each, and three pay for the Community plan within 60 days.

RisksAI inference
- RegulatoryDating sites handle sensitive personal data and age checks. Operators face privacy and safety rules that vary by country, and Hearthside may need to support them.
- CommercialThe named competitor is free open-source software. Operators may prefer to self-host at no cost, so the hosted convenience must be worth paying for.
- TechnicalNew dating communities start empty. Matching is weak with few members, so operators may leave before the community grows.
- PlatformPush notifications and install prompts on iPhone PWAs are limited, which may lower member engagement compared with native apps.
- AIAutomated photo screening can miss unsafe content or wrongly flag valid photos, so human review stays necessary and adds operator workload.
