About this appAI proposal
Wicket lets a WordPress site owner put content behind a paid membership and charge recurring subscriptions through Stripe. A small connector plugin guards pages, posts and files. Plans, members and failed payments are managed from a phone-friendly dashboard.
It is built for creators and small publishers who want to start charging without learning a large plugin's settings. Pick a plan template, choose what it unlocks, and publish a join link. Access rules are written as plain sentences, not nested option screens.
Existing membership plugins are broad and need a lot of configuration. Wicket narrows the job to the common cases: tiers, trials, gated content, renewals and recovering missed payments. Member records stay outside the WordPress database.

- Why this name
- A wicket is a small gate set in a larger one: a simple, short word for letting the right people through to your content.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Plan templates
Start from monthly, yearly, trial or setup-fee-then-recurring templates. Set price and access on one screen, then publish.

Plain-language access rules
Write rules like 'Gold members see posts tagged Courses'. Preview any page as a member, lapsed member or visitor.

Guided Stripe connection
Connect Stripe with a checklist that tests a payment and a renewal before you go live.

From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Members see Wicket-hosted join, checkout and account pages, which carry a small 'Powered by Wicket' line on the free plan. Site owners publish these links to their own audiences.
- Do they become customers?
- Members are mostly buyers of someone else's content, but other site owners and creators who join may become customers. Test how many join-page visitors click through and start a free plan.
- First customers
- Solo creators with an existing WordPress site selling courses or paid newsletters, with a few hundred followers and no membership plugin yet.
- Where to reach them
- WordPress creator communities: Offer free setup help in forums and groups where people ask how to charge for content.
- Comparison content: Publish guides on setting up paid content in WordPress, with a clear step-by-step demo.
- Direct outreach: Message creators whose sites have a 'support me' page but no paid tier, and offer a free setup call.
- First milestone
- Ten creators on the Creator plan within 60 days, each with at least one paying member.

RisksAI inference
- TechnicalGating must work across themes, caching plugins and page builders. Cached pages can leak locked content or block valid members.
- CommercialPaid Memberships Pro is established and has a free plan. Switching costs for existing sites are high, so new sites may be the only realistic start.
- PlatformThe product depends on WordPress plugin conventions and Stripe's rules. Changes in either could break the connector or billing flow.
- DataHolding member and payment records off-site brings privacy duties and expectations of uptime. If Wicket is down, members may lose access.
- RegulatoryRecurring billing brings sales tax, VAT and cancellation rules that differ by country. Site owners will expect help with them.
