About this appAI proposal
Plainline connects the SaaS tools your team already uses and moves data between them. Build a workflow by dragging steps onto a canvas, and drop into JavaScript in any step when the visual blocks run out.
It is for developers and automation specialists who maintain flows for a wider team. Run it in our cloud, or host it yourself with the same files. Cloud plans are priced by seat and workspace, not by each execution, so a busy flow does not raise your bill.
The installable web app also puts run history, failures and one-tap retries on your phone, so you can fix a broken flow away from your desk.

- Why this name
- Plain says what it is: clear flows, no surprises. Line is the path data travels from one tool to the next.
In the first version
Members say which features they would use. It tells PWAS what people want; it changes no score.
Visual canvas with code steps
Connect triggers, filters and actions visually. Add a code step anywhere to reshape data, call an odd API or handle edge cases.

Flat pricing, no per-run meter
Cloud plans are charged by seat and workspace. Run a flow ten times or ten million without a surprise invoice.

Self-host with the same files
Export a workspace as plain files and run it on your own server. Move back to cloud later without rebuilding.
No member yet
Failure inbox with one-tap retry
Every failed run lands in one list with the step, the input and the error. Fix the cause, then retry from the failed step.

$120,000 a year in revenue
From 87 software businesses listed and sold on Empire Flippers in the last year, revenue vetted by the broker: they sell for about 19× their monthly revenue, most between 13× and 26×.
Measured on profit, the middle deal is 32× monthly net profit: about 2.7 years of profit.
An estimate, not an offer or financial advice. A real price depends on profit, growth, churn, how much of the work is the owner's, and the buyer.
How it would growAI proposal
How the product would reach new customers through its own use, and how the first ones would be found. A plan to test, not a result.
- Built-in loop
- Shared outputs. Users publish a flow as a link with credentials removed. Colleagues or community members open it, preview the steps and import it into their own workspace.
- Do they become customers?
- People who import a template are builders with the same problem, so they could become paying users. Test how many imports lead to a signed-up workspace and then a paid seat.
- First customers
- Small agencies and ops teams of 2 to 10 people with one developer who already maintains automations and feels the cost of per-run billing.
- Where to reach them
- Developer communities: Post worked examples of flows and cost comparisons in automation forums and self-hosting groups.
- Template library: Publish ten useful shareable flows for lead routing and invoicing that link back to Plainline.
- Direct outreach: Contact agencies that post about automation work and offer a free migration of one flow.
- First milestone
- Ten teams run a real flow for 30 days, and at least three pay for the Team plan.

RisksAI inference
- Commercialn8n is an established open-source competitor with a large community. Plainline needs a clear edge, such as flat pricing or failure handling, to win users.
- TechnicalReaching a wide integration catalog is slow. The first version would cover a small set of connectors plus generic HTTP, which may not match what buyers need.
- TechnicalRunning customers' code safely in a shared cloud is hard. A sandbox escape would expose other workspaces' credentials.
- PlatformConnectors depend on third-party APIs that change terms, limits or access, which can break flows without notice.
- CommercialFlat pricing may attract heavy users whose compute costs exceed revenue, so fair-use limits would need testing.
